I feel sad for his family and wish them the strength to bear this loss. Death penalty is inhuman and in Pakistan's case, mostly unjust.
There is no place for a death penalty in a civilized society regardless of severity of the crime. It is also sad that the people who ordered the murders are free and often seen and heard on the TV.
I hope justice is served to them as well one day. However, that is only possible when a fair and representative government is in place. Justice served no doubt But not completely. Better late than never. However, it is quite appreciable that he poured his heart out I feel sorry for his family. People like Saulat Mirza will keep on killing and get executed, unless the big wigs are nabbed,which is never going to happen in Pakistan. Upon hearing the execution news, his family began pleading his case, where his wife and sisters held multiple press conferences, demanding a re-investigation.
After releasing a confession video to multiple private news channels, where he leveled charges of murder involvement of Altaf Hussain, Mirza's execution was ultimately halted on presidential orders and an active investigation against MQM was launched by the Pakistan government.
